Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

If you’ve started your wedding planning by surfing the net you’ve probably already come across companies offering wedding websites and may well be asking yourself “Do we need a website”? In this age of the social networking boom, a website can both provide you with a hip way to let your guests know all the details of your special day whilst saving you in printing and postage. It can also become a lasting memory and become a record of your life together.

Q. So how does a having a website work?
A. By sending out the details of your website, you can provide your guests with all the information they need about your big day as and when it’s available, starting with details of your hen and stag parties! No more printing out of reams of directions and hotel details. Just a ‘Save the Day’ card or an invite will do. Guests can even RSVP via the site.

Q. All this is available free so why have one designed?
A. Template websites have their limits and mean that you actually do all the hard work whilst the design company takes a monthly ‘hosting’ fee. Some require you to have advertising on your site. Having a site designed for you takes away those restrictions, and means you can match your wedding theme or be as traditional or as funky as you like, all at a reasonable cost.

Q. So what extras can I get with a designed site?
A. One of the best features is a bespoke wedding gift list. Have exactly the items on your list that you would like from where you like. If your favourite shop is that little one in Didsbury why not have those napkins that you’ve had your eye on included. Other features include: A To Do Planner, route planning, count down’s and weather updates.

Q. Can I display pictures from my events and wedding?
A. You can have galleries of your pictures in various formats and can even upload them on the day. Guests can upload theirs too so that you have a complete formal and informal record. You can choose to allow your guests to download pictures and have links to printers so that they can order copies of their favourite snaps.

Q. How long does it take?
A. From the point when we meet you to discuss the look and feel of your website to it being ready to be used normally takes about 3-4 weeks, however we will always endeavour to meet any timescales you specify.

Q. Worried about security?
A. Lots of concerns remain about the security of information on the web. A professionally designed site will come with all the necessary security features to ensure no information goes astray and no one can hack into your memories. You can also choose whether the site is available to the whole world or just to those to whom you give the address too.

Why stop at the wedding day? Your website can also be a lasting memory of the build up, the big day and then your life together as your website grows into your family site. It can adapt as much or as little as you would like.
